Manchester City have been lucky and favourites signing young players each summer.
It’s about three seasons since City completed the signing of young midfielder Claudio Gomes from the PSG academy, and Pep Guardiola certainly had big expectations for the French youngster, who can play in a midfield role or even in a full-back position, as he has shown for the U23 side.
The highly rated 20 year-old has made only three first-team appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side. However, Gomes has not given up hope on becoming a regular senior team player for the Premier League outfit.
Manchester City youngster had this to say on his future at the club
“My target is to be a Manchester City player. I’ll keep going, working hard. We can’t say my chance is gone – it is not possible in football – we don’t know what will happen in the future.”
“Now I’m in Manchester, I’m happy, I’m working hard in Manchester City all the time”, he went on to reiterate.
Gomes continued, “Maybe the opportunities will come soon or next season. I don’t know but I believe in my project at Manchester City.”
