According to the report, Portuguese publication Record (The Metro), Red Devils midfielder Bruno Fernandes is aware of the interest Manchester United have shown in Nuno Mendes.
The young star is one of the best young talents of his generation, one of the best young left-backs in European football, he is already a regular for Sporting.
Fernandes is keen for Mendes to join him at Old Trafford. He is actively pushing United to complete a deal for the young star.
Bruno Fernandes and Mendes share the same agent and are also teammates at the international level.
However, according to the report, the club may be willing to offer the latter in part exchange for Mendes.
The youngster also has an impressive £59.3m release clause. However, Sporting may be willing to accept as little as £34m.

Given his age and potential, it would be a fair price for a player who can be a star for us in the years to come. Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is a big fan of the player and hopes to keep him around for the next five years.
