There are fewer Canada Scholarships available compared to the vast number of US scholarships, UK scholarships, and Australian scholarships accessible to international students. 1. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships

The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program at the University of Toronto is designed to reward international students who have excelled in academics and who are recognized as leaders within their schools.

A significant focus is put on the student’s effect on the lives of their school and community, as well as their future potential to positively contribute to the global community.

2. Calgary International Entrance Scholarships

The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is a prestigious award that recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of international students beginning their undergraduate studies at the University.

The scholarship is $15,000, renewable annually in the second, third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms. The total amount over 4 years of the undergraduate program is $60,000.

Applicants must be international students who are registered full-time in an undergraduate degree program that commences in the Fall term. They have to be new students. To be considered for a scholarship, a student must normally present a minimum GPA of 3.20. They must also have satisfied the university’s English Language Proficiency requirement.

3. Humber College International Entrance Scholarships

Humber offers renewable full and partial tuition scholarships to NEW international students beginning classes in September and January of each year.

$1500-$4000 depending on GPA on admission. The scholarships are renewable but the student must maintain a minimum average of 80% in order to be eligible for renewal.

Bachelor’s Degree scholarships are available to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in Humber’s EAP program). Humber awards degree scholarships automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement, with a minimum of 75% final admission average.

4. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and to establish Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and higher learning.

The scholarships are towards a doctoral degree (or combined MA/Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D.) at participating Canadian Universities.  The scholarship is worth $50,000 per year for three years. Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian Institution with a quota at which they want to study. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program.

Applications are initiated in one of two ways. Either the student informs the faculty of graduate studies at the selected institution of their intent to apply to the Vanier CGS program OR the institution initiates the nomination process by contacting the desired candidate.

5. University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships

The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) are merit-based awards that are open to students of any nationality who will be registered as full-time graduate students (Masters or Ph.D.) at the University of Manitoba.

The fellowships are valued at $18,000 for Ph.D. students or $14,000 for Master’s students for a 12-month period. Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian Institution with a quota at which they want to study. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program.

6. University of Minnesota Academic Scholarships

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is inviting applications from interested international students for some tuition discounts and visa assistance for the next academic year.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities – The University of Minnesota Twin Cities provides a high-quality education at a reasonable cost, especially compared to our peer institutions. Since we charge a flat tuition rate, the tuition cost will not increase for students taking 13 credits or more per semester.

All international freshman and transfer students attending on an F1 visa who are admitted for fall admission are automatically considered for a Global Excellence Scholarship. For the 2021-2022 academic year, international freshmen can receive scholarships of $25,000, $15,000, or $10,000 per year for up to four years.

7. University of Waterloo Master’s Awards of Excellence

The International Master’s Award of Excellence (IMAE) will be awarded to eligible international master’s students normally entering a research-based graduate program at the University of Waterloo. The award will be valued at $2,500 per term for a maximum of five terms.

Applicants must be International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full-time and assessed international tuition fees. The scholarship will normally be awarded to Masters’s degree students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).

Only students entering the first term of their program are eligible. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty and must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.

8. University of British Columbia Scholarships for International Students

UBC recognizes the academic achievement of outstanding students from around the world by devoting more than $10 million CAD annually to awards, scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance for international undergraduate students.

9. Carleton Prestige Scholarships

Carleton University offers the following Prestige scholarships to outstanding incoming undergraduate students with an admission average of 90% better.
